Balance Treatment Center Clinical Director - Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Gill received her Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. She attended the program under the child and family emphasis area, and her dissertation was the development of a resilience inventory. She completed her first predoctoral internship at the Didi Hirsch- Glendale/ Glen Roberts Child Study Center where she was under the direct supervision of Dr. Glen Roberts, the creator of the Roberts Apperception Test for Children. While there, Dr. Gill received intensive training in psycho-educational testing and treatment of children ages 5-19, as well as gained experience delivering trauma focused CBT, Positive Parenting classes, and psychotherapy to children and their family.

Dr. Gill continued to complete her second predoctoral internship at Aurora Vista Del Mar Hospital where she specialized in crisis interventions, rapid stabilization, working with chemical dependency, and testing adolescents and adults in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Dr. Gill completed her Clinical Practicum, as well as her Post Doctoral Fellowship at the Child and Family Guidance Center where she attended a year long seminar in both testing, and forensic assessment of sexual knowledge in children, and received specialized training in the treatment of trauma in children, adolescents and families. While there Dr. Gill was part of the centers crisis program where she continued to build her experience working with clients in need of intensive outpatient services.

At Balance Treatment Center Dr. Gill combines her love of therapy, testing, and program development. Dr. Gill has a warm, engaging, interpersonal approach to therapy. She views her clients as experts in their life, and truly believes that her clients already have all the answers, wisdom, and capacity for growth within themselves. She draws upon interventions from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused therapy, Narrative therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Self Psychology when working with her clients and tailors interventions to best meet the client's needs, and desires. Dr. Gill views her role as a collaborative partner that can help clients access the resources they have internally, in order to create the change they seek in their life.
